There is no greater joy than making music together, and this class is sure to be pure joy! Every week, students of all ages and skill levels will learn a popular song together, experiment with harmonies and instrumentations, and have fun in a supportive creative environment. Seasoned instrumentalists, absolute beginners, and folks who just want to sing without an instrument are all welcome to join in this supportive and welcoming class. Students are welcome to make song suggestions to add to the mix!

The class has 12 sessions over 13 weeks. There are no classes the week of March 13-17. This is considered an all-ages class, but we ask that any children under 12 be able to either participate at an adult level or have an adult also taking the class or accompanying them.

with Adam Lowe

Calendar Feb 8, 2023 at 5:45 pm, runs for 13 weeks

Take your instrument skills to the next level by learning traditional Old-Time tunes of Surry County and the region. Co-teachers Adam and Mecca Lowe (who also head up the Elkin JAM) are experts in local traditional music, and will share their knowledge with students. Singers are also welcome in this class, though not every song will have lyrics. We recommend this class especially to those who have completed Guitar Level 1, Banjo Level 1, Fiddle Level 1, or anyone who has aged out of the Elkin JAM program.

The class has 12 sessions over 13 weeks. There are no classes the week of March 13-17. This is considered an adult class, though younger students are welcome as long as they are able to participate at an adult level during the class.
