Youth Intro to Guitar (Ages 8-14)

Learn the fundamentals of the guitar in a fun group class setting!
Youth students with little or no guitar experience are welcome. Please note that if there are any behavioral or focus issues, parents/guardians may be asked to stay in the classroom to assist.
This class is 12 weeks long, and each class runs for 45 minutes.
Required Materials: 6 string guitar (if electric, a small amp is also required), recording device, pencil and notebook

First class: February 3, Spring Break: March 10, Last Class: April 28
Tentative Final Concert Date: May 6

Kids can take their guitar skills to the next level in a fun group class setting!

Elkin JAM (Junior Appalachian Musicians)
with Meredith Wilkerson
Open to all 4th-8th graders (at any school), the Junior Appalachian Musicians program provides instruction in traditional mountain music. Elkin JAM participants may choose between banjo, guitar, fiddle, or mandolin. Instruments provided as needed.
First class: Wednesday, February 5th
Spring Break: Wednesday, March 12th
Last Class: Wednesday, April 30th
