Reeves Downtown School of Music

This class introduces students to classical and fingerstyle guitar techniques, with anemphasis on reading standard music notation, right-hand finger independence, toneproduction, and musical expression. Students will develop music-reading skills whileapplying foundational techniques through carefully selected repertoire and technicalexercises. The class is appropriate for adult learners and older teens, and is open to playerswith basic guitar experience who are interested in developing a more expressive andversatile fingerstyle approach.

REQUIRED MATERIALS: Classical or acoustic guitar, Hal Leonard Classical Guitar MethodBook 1 (ISBN-10: 0634093290).

Bilingual note: Raul is bilingual and can teach the class in both English andSpanish as needed. Raul es bilingüe y puede impartir la clase tanto en inglés comoen español según sea necesario.

Please note, this is a 12-week class taught over 13 weeks. No class the week of March 22-28.
