Calling all dramatic kids!  In this four-week acting intensive, we will be working on skills to make your auditions stand out, making strong choices in scene work and having fun with some improvisation games. Whether you are a regular onstage or have never acted but have always dreamed of performing, this is a great class for you.

"Making A Scene" Teen/Adult Acting Class

The new year is the perfect time to work on improving your skills as an actor or try something new if you have always wanted to be on stage.  In this four week class, we will be delving into monologues, and scene work.  Please come prepared for the first class with a 1-2 minute monologue you would like to work on.  Below, I am listing some resources for finding free  monologues if you are unsure where to start.

Famous Duos

with Meredith Wilkerson

Calendar Feb 4, 2025 at 5 pm, runs for 13 weeks

Join Meredith Wilkerson as she guides students through some of Country and Bluegrass' famous duos like Dolly and Porter, The Louvin Brothers, and Jim and Jesse Reynolds and folk duos like Simon & Garfunkel. Learn the harmonies, instrumentations, and humor that made these duos so great.

Bring your instrument and learn to play each song, or simply join in with the singing. 

This is an adult level class, designed for students age 13 and up. 

What to bring: Instrument of choice, notebook and/or recording device, water.

Prerequisites: None.

This is a 12-week class taught over 13 weeks.

First class: February 4, Spring Break: March 11, Last Class: April 29

Tentative Final Concert Date: May 6

Songwriting - Finding the Lyrics

Calendar Feb 4, 2025 at 5:30 pm, runs for 13 weeks

Learn the fundamentals of songwriting and structure, or continue your songwriting journey, in this exciting twelve-week course! Proficiency in an instrument of choice is strongly encouraged, but not required. This session will focus more on lyrics and lyricism. 

Songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and Reeves House Bandleader Tommy Jackson brings his storied creative expertise to this class.

This is an adult level course, though younger students may attend if they show a strong interest and have parent or guardian permission. Please note that fellow students' songs may contain adult language or content.

Learn the why and how behind your favorite songs with this music theory class. Whether a seasoned player who needs a refresher, or a music beginner excited to learn how music works, this class is fabulous for all stages and skill levels. This is considered an adult level class, generally open to older teens and adults, though certain younger participants who exhibit maturity may be able to participate. Expanding Your Chord Vocabulary for Guitar

Intermediate to advanced guitar players can take their playing to the next level with this new class from Josh Cassteens. Learn more complex chords and transitions, and expand your ability to play accross genres and styles. This is an adult-level class though certain younger players with advanced skills may join with instructor permission.

Fiddle Exploration

Take your violin skills to the next level with this class. Intended for students with a fundamental knowledge of how to play their instrument, Fiddle Exploration will help students grow more confident in their playing in a supportive group setting. This is considered an adult class, but younger students may be admitted with permission from the instructor.
