Taking Center Stage Youth Workshop

Want to get comfortable with singing in the spotlight?

Whether you want to begin solo singing or are a seasoned soloist looking to become more confident on stage, this workshop is for you. In this workshop, you will receive: warmups and tips to help you prepare for your performance, one on one feedback from a professional singer and voice teacher, a chance to practice singing publicly in a supportive environment, and exercises to help improve your confidence onstage. Come prepared with water, a  song of your choosing, and a backup track in the correct key.  A bluetooth speaker will be provided.  Spots are limited!

This workshop is for Elementary-aged students. Younger students may need parents to attend, but otherwise parental attendance is optional.

 

ABOUT KAITLYNE COLBERT:

Having expressed a love of music from a young age, Kaitlyne Colbert began singing in church and musicals. She studied vocal performance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts where she would appear in multiple concerts and operas with the Fletcher Opera Institute.  Kaitlyne has performed internationally and regionally across multiple genres including opera, musical theater, folk, and bluegrass.  Most recently, Colbert performed at Carnegie Hall in These Ancient Words.  Other favorite performances include A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder (Little Theatre,Winston-Salem),  A Christmas Carol (Goodly Frame, Greensboro)  9 to 5 the Musical (Barn Dinner Theater, Greensboro), Die Zauberflote (Lyric Opera Weimar, Germany) and A Little Night Music (Piedmont Opera, Winston-Salem).
