Singing Fundamentals

Explore the hidden power and magic of your voice! Whether you wish to gain confidence for an audition, learn proper vocal techniques, feel what it's like to have a solo, or just have a chance to sing with people again, this class is for you!

Christine is a kind and patient instructor who helps every student build confidence and improve technique.

Intro to Clawhammer Banjo Part 2

Intro to Traditional Mandolin

Musical Theater Summer Camp (Ages 5-8)

Calendar Jul 18, 2022 at 9 am, runs for 1 week

Monday-Friday July 18-22, 9 am - 12 pm, with a performance for families on the last day of camp starting at 12pm. 

Ages 5-8, or rising Kindergarten through 3rd Grade

Learn the ins and outs of musical theater with this exciting half-day camp! Instructors Christine Blydenburgh and Kate Carson-Groner will guide students through exciting group songs, incorporating acting, singing, and movement to tell stories through music. Children will play fun theatre games, practice healthy singing techniques, and learn simple choreography while gaining confidence in their talents. No experience necessary, just a willingness to try! The week will culminate with a brief performance for families on Friday at noon.

Requirements: Water bottle, snack, clothes & shoes that are comfortable for movement and will not fall down/ride up during physical activity.  Please inform staff of any accessibility needs prior to camp. RDSM is wheelchair accessible, and caregivers are welcome to assist during camp.

Musical Theater Summer Camp (Ages 9-12)

Tunes & Trails Camp

$130

RDSM and Elkin JAM are inviting rising 4th-8th graders to attend our "Tunes and Trails" summer camp August 1-5th. 

Students will learn about the traditional music of the Blue Ridge and receive basic instruction in how to play guitar, fiddle, or banjo in the old-time way. In addition, kids will explore the local natural beauty of downtown Elkin, including the Big Elkin Creek watershed.  From stream ecology to hiking and biking, kids will be able to enjoy time in nature and learn about the local watershed. Instruments and bikes provided as needed. Space is limited. Scholarships available. Special thanks to Watershed NOW and Trips for Kids for trail and bike assistance.

Students should bring a bagged lunch, refillable water bottle, and sunscreen every day. Rain gear and a change of shoes/socks are recommended in case of inclement weather.

Snacks will be provided. Instruments and bicycles available upon request. Students will be walking from the school at 129 Church Street to local trails and parks. Email info@reevesmusic.org with questions, including scholarship and accessibility requests. 

Schedule: August 1-5, 8:30 AM - 3 PM

Payment plan available: $50 deposit plus 2 payments of $40.00, paid every four weeks.
